Steven Alesio

Prior to joining Artius, Steve was an Operating Partner at Providence Equity Partners from 2010 to 2017, working primarily in the education, training, and information services sectors. While at Providence, Steve served as the sole or primary operating partner on numerous portfolio company boards, including as a chairman.  He had successfully recruited and mentored numerous CEOs, CFOs and senior management teams for portfolio companies. Steve has also served as interim CEO of portfolio companies on several separate occasions. He was responsible for several successful turnarounds and exits, including one of Providence’s most successful investments.

From 2001 to 2010, Steve was at the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, a provider of credit and marketing information and data analytics for businesses. Steve served as Chairman of the Board and CEO from 2005 until his retirement from the company in 2010.  From 2001 to 2005, he served in various senior leadership positions, including as President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Dun & Bradstreet, Steve spent 19 years with the American Express Company, where he served in various marketing, general management, operating and leadership roles, culminating in his appointment as President, Small Business Services. Steve also currently serves on the boards of CDW Corporation, Teaching Solutions and Artius Acquisition Inc.

Steve is also a Senior Fellow at Jobs for the Future, currently leading an effort aimed at providing Newark’s high school-aged youth with the individual support, career exploration, social development, and post-secondary counseling needed to allow them to succeed in careers that provide a living wage.   Steve received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science (BSc. Magna cum Laude) from St. Francis College in Pennsylvania.
